Beech Avenue Brewery is set in the idyllic countryside on Lodge farm between Rossett and Holt to the northeast of Wrexham, on the border of Wales & England. Starting in the kitchen on Beech Avenue in late 2019 the microbrewery quickly outgrew its original home, moving to the farm in the Autumn of 2020. The brewery now serves the local community with its range of traditional Welsh cask ales as well as a selection of craft and seasonal bottled beers all available for delivery or from local stockists. Owners, Brian and Melissa, have made it their business to get the brewery involved with the local community and you can often find them serving their products at various events in and around Wrexham. With a selection of liqueurs being produced on site and their annual cider production there is a tipple available for everyone.
Both economic and environmental sustainability have been key to the choices we have made at Beech Avenue Brewery. In the climate we found ourselves in we knew we had to minimise our production costs and mitigate our negative environmental impact. Our space on Lodge Farm helps us to achieve our targets. Firstly, we were able to house the brewery in the farm's refurbished grain silo where we were also able to power the whole brewing process using electricity from Fre-Energy's Anaerobic Digester. The digester takes local organic waste and converts it to electricity and heat which the whole farm benefits from. It also takes the brewery's organic waste in this closed loop system. Our beer is all naturally carbonated in cask and bottle meaning there is no requirement for additional carbon dioxide and we minimise our food miles by using local or British grown ingredients where possible, specifically malts, hops and fruit. There is always more we can do to reduce the effect we have on the environment so we continue to improve our processes to achieve this where ever possible.
