Bryngaer Goats is a Welsh artisan goats cheese making business based near Llandovery, just outside the Brecon Beacons. It is a new local Welsh food business which only started trading in May 2023. Bryngaer Goats has developed a soft blue mould-ripened goat's cheese, Gafr Las, together with a Manchego-style cheese, Marta Gafr. Both cheeses won awards at the British Cheese Awards 2024, with Gafr Las winning Best Welsh Cheese. I am now developing two soft cheeses. I moved to a Welsh smallholding a few years ago with my family, after a career in Palaeoecology, as I now wanted to pursue my love of goats and cheese and become a cheesemaker.
