Established in 1996 as a dedicated food technology centre by Ceredigion County Council as part of its economic development strategy, the aim was to provide technical services to business start-ups, SMEs and existing food manufacturers as well as play a strategic role in supporting the Welsh food industry.
Nearly two decades on, Food Centre Wales has developed an enviable reputation, a suite of modern facilities and a comprehensive menu of consultancy and advice services.
The 880 square metre Research and Development building, for example, has four separate process areas, as well as smaller trial kitchens allowing clients to test the latest equipment to develop new food products.
The research and development service underpins new ideas, providing specially designed incubator units to give start-ups industry-standard premises, and a supportive environment in which to establish a firm foothold in the industry.
Food Centre Wales is also rightly proud of its commercial manufacturing capabilities which includes consultancy services in relation to third party audits, factory design, food safety, legislation, NPD, product assessment etc.
Whether you are developing new products, going into manufacture for the first time or looking for specialist training and advice, this purpose-built food technology centre and its team of knowledgeable and innovative staff provide all the answers.
