Food Innovation Wales joined the Welsh food and drink delegation at the Food and Drink Expo in Birmingham’s NEC from 16-18 April 2018. The Food Innovation Wales team distributed copies of the Producers’ Directory, which lists over 450 Welsh food and drink businesses, and also discussed the range of technical and commercial support they can offer.

The Welsh food and drink area showcased products from 30 Welsh food and drink companies. Many of the businesses, including Authentic Curry Co, Bug Farm Foods, Mario’s, Sabor De Amor and The Bake Shed have previously received support from the three food centres that form Food Innovation Wales.
Innovative Welsh products on display included Fori’s high protein snack bars, Halen Môn’s multi-award winning smoked water, Barti Ddu spiced rum with Pembrokeshire seaweed and Dylan’s coriander-twanged sweet chilli dipping sauce.

Over 30,000 attendees and 1,500 exhibitors attended the food and drink exhibition which forms one of the key dates in the UK food and drink calendar. A selection of Welsh companies had the opportunity to showcase their products with Radio 2 presenter Nigel Barden as part of a pair of Wake up with Wales breakfast events.
